London Probation Service:

The London Probation Service, who have an enviable record for supporting disabled staff, asked Phil and John to carry out, on their behalf, research among employees with disabilities. Phil and John engaged the services of Mary-Anne Rankin, Disability Consultant on this occasion.

The research specifically considered the use of assistive technologies, for example:

• Were they working effectively?
  
• Was staff support adequate?
  
• Were there more efficient ways of providing assistance?

Using a combination of desk research, questionnaires and one-to-one interviews, Phil and John were able to make a number of important recommendations to management regarding

• Reasonable adjustment action planning

• Software compatibility

• Training, and Performance review procedures
